Firewood and Woodchip

At All Seasons we produce seasoned firewood logs and deliver direct to your door

All of the firewood we sell is from sustainable sources collected during our main industry of tree surgery. Using wood as fuel to heat our homes, heat water and cook with is a natural way of recycling waste product from our industry.

The process of seasoning the wood ensures that when burned it will be to it's full potential. We sell a mixture of wood which has been seasoned for at least one year reducing the moisture content allowing it to burn efficiently.

Wood should be burned when the moisture content is below 25% - 'air-dry', you can tell if a log is dry as the bark will come away easily in the hand and the log will have splits across the grain.

Ideally, firewood should be no more than 10cm thick. All our firewood is cut and split to the ideal size for burning.

Wood when well seasoned will burn with the minimum of smoke and the maximum of flame - making it ideal for open fires, wood burning stoves, garden 'fire-pits' and patio heaters.

Local log deliveries are free up to a distance of 10miles.

We deliver logs in any multiple of cubic metres and the logs will be tipped loose on your driveway.

Our logs are delivered 'loose' and are tipped from the back of one of our vans.

Just place an order by phone / email and we will arrange a suitable delivery time with yourselves (we can deliver while you are out as no access to the property is required).

“Seasoned logs are better for burning because they’ve dried out, making them burn more efficiently and produce more heat. Freshly cut wood is full of moisture, which makes it harder to burn and wastes energy.

Here’s why seasoned wood is the better choice:

  1. Less Moisture: Seasoned wood has lower moisture content, so it burns hotter and more easily, while wet wood uses energy to evaporate water before it burns.

  2. More Efficient: Dry wood burns completely, giving you more heat with less effort. Wet wood smokes a lot and burns slowly.

  3. Less Smoke & Creosote: Wet wood creates more smoke and leads to creosote buildup in your chimney, which can be dangerous. Seasoned wood burns cleaner.

  4. Easier to Light: Dry logs ignite quickly, while wet wood smolders and takes longer to catch fire.

  5. Better for the Environment: Seasoned wood burns cleaner with less air pollution.

To season wood, split it and stack it in a dry, well-ventilated area, off the ground, and let it dry for months.

In short, seasoned wood burns hotter, cleaner, and more efficiently, making it safer and better for your home and the environment.
